Job summary

Doggett Toyota Lift is seeking a Road Technician to diagnose and repair Toyota material handling equipment at customer sites in Texas. You will inspect equipment, perform repairs, calibrations, and pre-delivery tests, and document time and materials.

You must own your tools and have a high school diploma; prior field experience with construction equipment is preferred. Expect to work with customers, supervisors and service teams, read manuals and service bulletins, and maintain safety standards

Qualifications

  • Experience with Toyota Material Handling equipment is highly preferred.
  • Previous field experience in construction equipment diagnostics, repair and servicing.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Must have your own tools.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and inspect Toyota Lift equipment and components, and/or evaluate disabled equipment to assess condition and determine needed repairs.
  • Discuss equipment problems with customers, shop supervisor and/or others as needed.
  • Repair, replace, calibrate, adjust, and/or rebuild engine components.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper operation.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections of new equipment.
  • Inspect, add and/or change fluids and lubricants; diagnose and replace worn parts and perform other routine servicing and maintenance.
  • Read equipment manuals, service bulletins and other resources.
  • Attend training sessions as needed/required.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of equipment to be serviced.
  • Assist with ordering parts, materials and supplies needed for repair and maintenance.
  • Record work performed, time and materials used for each job; complete timecards and maintain related work logs and records.
  • Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment and perform related duties as assigned in support of service department operations.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.

Environmental Conditions

Employees regularly work around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
