Job description

  • Pay or shift range: $2 USD to $32 USD

    The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Position may be required to work in Woodbridge, VA and Manassas, VA

Knowledge and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement
  • Must pass a DMV driving record check and maintain clean driving record throughout employment
  • Must be able to exhibit excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Must be willing to have flexibility with schedule and work in a 24/7 environment, to include weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, federal finger printing and a DOT physical examination

Key Accountabilities

  • Road Supervisors are to provide direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street
  • Observes driving skills and work habits of drivers in the field
  • Ensure that all operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards and are in possession of proper licensing and certifications
  • Assist dispatch and maintenance staff with vehicle change outs that occur in the field
  • Assist operators with service or passenger problems
  • Conduct road observations according to client and local policy
  • Monitor street operations for on-time performance and schedule adherence
  • Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on service items that affect safety and performance, identify potential safety hazards and provide feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures
  • Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures
  • Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines
  • Responsible for onboard evaluations, trail checks, drive cam and mentoring/coaching drivers
  • Monitor pull-outs and service areas
  • Other duties as required

  • Long periods (potentially exceeding 8 hours per day) of walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, twisting, squatting, handling materials, repetitive hand-wrist motions, and traversing uneven surfaces;
  • Exposure to both extreme heat and cold;
  • Exposure to loud noises, fumes, and airborne particles;

In addition to the above demands inherent in every role, the following roles may entail unique physical demands, including:

  • Operators/Drivers may work inside or outside vehicles and may operate vehicles for over 8 hours per day.
  • Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle.
  • Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers, laptops, electronic hand-held devices, complex electrical schematics, diagnostic software and testing devices, and other heavy machinery.
  • Office Staff may work indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities, including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.
