Responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of heavy trucks, digger derricks, bucket trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Provide on-the-road field service to keep crews operational and safe at job sites.
• Travel to various job sites as needed and work independently to resolve issues.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures while servicing equipment.

We are seeking an experienced Road Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of heavy trucks, digger derricks, bucket trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment used in powerline construction and maintenance. This role provides on-the-road (field) service, keeping crews operational and safe across job sites. Candidates with hands-on knowledge of the powerline/utility construction industry are strongly preferred, though not required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Required:
• 2+ years of experience as a diesel/heavy equipment mechanic, or equivalent technical training/certification
• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and heavy truck electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair issues both in-shop and in the field
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and travel to job sites as needed
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred (not required):

• Experience working on digger derricks, bucket trucks, or other powerline/utility construction equipment
• Familiarity with the powerline or utility construction industry and its equipment demands
• CDL license
• Experience with DOT inspection requirements
