Job summary

23XI Racing, Inc. is seeking a Road Mechanic in Huntersville, NC to assist in installing or repairing race car systems such as brakes, drivetrain, suspension, steering and cooling. You will work on-site, following checklists and NASCAR inspection processes to ensure performance and safety.

Applicants should have 2+ years auto mechanic experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and a valid driver’s license. Welding and basic measurement tools are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of auto mechanic experience.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems.
  • Knowledge of dial calipers and basic measuring tools.
  • Familiar with body and chassis repair.
  • Welding ability is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Follow checklists to ensure important parts are examined, including driveline, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, suspension, and other areas.
  • Assist with NASCAR inspection process.
  • Complete suspension and drive train changes as needed.
  • Install the engine, gear, and transmission.
  • Assist in examination of all key parts and components to determine extent of damage or malfunctions including belts, hoses, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other areas.
  • Assist with repair, replacement, and brake adjustments.
  • Assist with repair or replacement of gauges, gears, blowers, and bearings.
  • Disassemble units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Position Overview

Primarily responsible is assisting in the installation or repair of several systems or components of the race car, such as brakes, drivetrain, suspension, steering, or cooling system.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
