Job summary

Crane Creek Asphalt in Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Construction Quality Control Manager to lead QC efforts on road projects. The role is full-time and emphasizes coordinating asphalt mix design, sampling, testing, and timely submittals.

You will collaborate with management to monitor production parameters, schedule QC technicians and equipment, and ensure accurate reporting to authorities across Faribault and nearby communities.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with management to determine asphalt mix design and starting proportions based on contract requirements.
• Supervise mix design testing and submittals to ensure accuracy and timely approval.
• Coordinate collection of aggregate samples and ensure aggregates meet quality requirements for the design.
• Partners with management to monitor production parameters such as volumetrics and gradation.
• Monitor placement specifications such as density and ride, and assist with risk assessments on QC results.
• Develop safety strategies with the safety team and management to protect the QC team.
• Schedule QC Technicians and equipment in coordination with QC Manager and construction operations.
• Ensure QC results are reported accurately and timely to contracting authorities and stakeholders.
• Assist recruiting and hiring of QC Technicians as needed.
