Job summary

VSS International, Inc. is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to support road construction projects in Santa Cruz County, CA. The role involves setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, directing traffic and pedestrians, and performing flagging duties to ensure safe work zones.

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic work zone safety and traffic control devices is preferred.
Ability to follow traffic control plans, signals, and safety requirements.
Willingness to work outdoors on road construction crews and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, barricades, and related equipment.
Direct traffic, pedestrians, trucks, and equipment safely through work zones per approved plans.
Perform flagging duties with hand signals, paddles, radios, and clear communication.
Inspect setups during shifts and adjust for visibility, spacing, and compliance.
Load, unload, and organize traffic control materials.
Communicate with foremen, drivers, and crew about hazards and jobsite changes.
Maintain a safe work zone and report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
Follow safety policies, DOT requirements, and client rules; use PPE.
Perform other duties as assigned.
