Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Required to work at a higher class as necessary and in accordance with required licenses and/or certification.
• Licensing/Registration/Certification requirements include a state medical examination with drug test.
• Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B State of Maine license during the initial six-month probationary period.
• Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified amount of time.
• Under federal law, only U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or certain visa holders are eligible for new or renewed CDLs.

Responsibilities

• Keep roadways and bridges safe and effective as part of MaineDOT.
• Participate in snow plowing, culvert replacement, and road repair across seasons.
• Learn new skills and pursue promotional opportunities through training programs.
