Airtron LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking a Start-Up Technician responsible for the start-up and repair of HVAC systems for residential projects. This role involves troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with standards.
Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, EPA certification, and strong communication skills. The role includes working at construction sites in various weather conditions, adhering to safety protocols.
The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the start-up, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment for residential new construction projects. This role ensures all systems are installed and operating in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The technician must also be prepared to step into a Service Technician role as needed, providing diagnostic support and performing repairs to maintain system performance and customer satisfaction.
Majority of work will take place at construction sites. Minimal time spent in an office environment. Travel by vehicle to and from work locations. Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odors. Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
The candidate must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forklift; lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently; perform tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching; work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection. Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work boots. Must be able to maintain long periods of standing, walking or sitting. Must be able to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely. With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception. Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypad. Must be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools.
