Job summary

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. in Cambridge, MA seeks an Associate Scientist to support the RNA Pilot Manufacturing operation, delivering material with agility while upholding quality and compliance.

The role partners with CMC functions to ensure readiness and seamless material delivery in early and late development. The candidate will operate in phase-appropriate manufacturing, balance speed with scientific rigor, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BS with 2-4+ years’ experience in science related disciplines.
  • MS with 1-2+ years’ experience in science related disciplines.
  • Experience in RNA manufacturing process unit operations including bioreactors, chromatography, and filtration.
  • Knowledge of technology transfer from PD to pilot facility and from pilot facility to GMP manufacturing.
  • Strong track record of utilizing standardized operations, KPI management, and production documentation systems.
  • Experience with compiling and interpreting RNA analytics and biophysical characterization techniques such as HPLC, CE, ELISAs, and cell-based assays.
  • Prior management and mentorship experience; passion for people management and development
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, matrixed environment with rapidly evolving priorities.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, driving efficiencies, process improvements across diverse initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute RNA manufacturing operations supporting nonGMP manufacturing activities.
  • Work in an agile development manufacturing model in the RNA space capable of rapidly delivering material for various program needs.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations are executed in a phase-appropriate manner, balancing speed, compliance, scientific rigor, and operational discipline.
  • Partner with analytical testing laboratories to ensure sample submission, investigation support, and timely release of material.
  • Enable technical problem-solving during manufacturing campaigns, including real-time escalation, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain systems for tracking process performance using ELN workflows and multivariate data analysis tools
  • Ensure learnings from manufacturing activities are captured, communicated, and incorporated into future strategies.
