Job summary

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital is seeking a WOC RN to provide specialized ostomy, wound, and skin care. You will assess patients, develop plans, and collaborate with care teams to implement evidence-based interventions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Washington RN license required on hire.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) on hire.
  • Board Certification in Wound Care within 18 months of hire or transfer.
  • Board Certification in Ostomy Care within 2 years of hire or transfer.
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care clinical experience.
  • Graduate of Wound Ostomy Program preferred.
  • Continence Care Certification on hire (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Assess and plan care using nursing process for ostomy, wound and skin care.
  • Consult with other health care providers for care recommendations or direct care as requested.
  • Develop and evaluate care plans and interventions for affected patients.

Description

The Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) RN, under the general direction of the Director, is a Registered Nurse with specialized skill in providing ostomy, wound and skin care to select patient populations. The WOC RN utilizes the nursing process to assess, develop a nursing diagnosis, develop a plan of care with appropriate interventions and evaluate the effects of the plan. The WOC RN is involved in consulting with other health care providers in making recommendations for care or providing direct care to the ostomy patients, wound care patients and patients in need of skin care as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Within 18 months of hire: Board Certified in Wound Care (or within 18 months of transfer into position)
  • Within 2 years of hire: Board Certified in Ostomy Care (or within 18 months of transfer into position)
  • 2 years of Clinical experience in an acute setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school with a Wound Ostomy and Continence Program.
  • Upon hire: Certified Continence Care Certification
