Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Wound Ostomy RN in Lakewood, CO. You will serve as the clinical resource for wound, ostomy, continence care across acute and rehab settings, delivering direct patient care and leading education and program development.

You will assess patients, manage WOC nursing operations, plan care, and implement therapies. A $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or ADN and/or BSN required.
• RN license in good standing with required state(s).
• BLS certification.
• Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide full scope WOC nursing care including complex wounds, ostomies, fistulae, and dermal ulcers.
• Educate, counsel, and provide clinical leadership to the care team.
• Manage outpatient WOC nursing services and program development.
• Plan discharge and coordinate with medical teams to meet care goals.
• Deliver evidence-based nursing interventions and assess patient outcomes.

As our Wound Ostomy RN, you will serve as the clinical resource and consultant for the acute and rehabilitative care of patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems.

Every day you will provide the full scope of WOC(ET) nursing practice, including direct patient care for complex draining wounds, ostomies, fistulae, dermal ulcers, tubes, and incontinence. You will also engage in education, counseling, research, and administration regarding these specialties.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse demonstrating expertise in wound, ostomy, and continence care. Your strong clinical assessment, education, and consultative skills are essential for optimizing patient outcomes in these specialized areas.

• Assesses and identifies condition of patient needs by direct observation, examination, patient and/or responsible person(s) interviews and their medical records.
• Manages WOC(ET) nursing office operations and program development as well as outpatient services for all patients within the WOC(ET) nurse practice.
• Plans patient care to reflect goals that are realistic, measurable, and consistent with medical plan of care, including discharge planning.
• Implements nursing and medical plan of care through the delivery of safe and therapeutically effective interventions.
• Provides educational opportunities regarding guidelines of care for patients within WOC(ET) nursing practice.
• Evaluates patient progress toward expected outcomes

We are offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus in addition up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
• Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
• Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse

Preferred

• Two (2) years clinical nursing experience in acute care or wound care setting.
