Qualifications

• Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
• CPR/BLS certification required per AH policy.
• Wound care certification preferred with plan to achieve in determined time period.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to medically complex patients in collaboration with the physician in a specialized acute care setting.
• Works autonomously with authority and accountability for wound, ostomy, and continence care program across inpatient areas.
• Serves as a resource for wound care management including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention.
• Provides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing and medical staff.
• Conducts rounds on patients with wound/pressure injuries as needed.

Day Shift: M-F 0800-1630, no weekends. Looking for an experienced wound care RN. Traveler will see patients from different units as long as there’s a wound care need. Consults: pressure injuries that need to be evaluated. Any scrub color is acceptable. EPIC experience REQUIRED.

Job Summary

Provides care to medically complex patients in collaboration with the physician in a specialized acute care setting.

Works within scope and experience and works autonomously and has authority, responsibility, and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of wound, ostomy, and continence care program throughout the inpatient care areas.

Serves as a resource for wound care management, including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention.

Within scope and experience, Provides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing and medical staff.

Serves as a consultant in the management of patients with draining wounds, fistula and tubes.

Serves as a consultant for the treatment of patients with altered skin integrity due to pressure necrosis, drainage or incontinence.

Works with physicians and nursing staff to provide updated information regarding wound care.

Conducts rounds on all patients with wound/pressure ulcers and pressure injuries on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements

• Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
• Relevant clinical nursing experience: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Wound care certification: Preferred with plan to achieve in determined time period
• Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

• Maintains complete, accurate, concise, legible documentation of patient status, interventions and responses.
