Job summary

Hunterdon Health is seeking a part-time Wound Care RN to provide education and consultative services for wound and ostomy patients, their families and clinical staff. The role emphasizes high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice within a shared governance framework.

The position requires RN licensure with a BSN preferred and at least 2 years of nursing experience including ostomy and wound care.

Qualifications

• Two years nursing experience including ostomy care.
• Current RN licensure required.
• BSN preferred or in progress for hires after 2012.
• Knowledge of wound care and skin assessment.

Responsibilities

• Facilities and coordinates patient care for wound/ostomy patients.

Position Summary

Provides education and consultative services for wound and ostomy patients, families, and clinical staff. Provides quality nursing care through the application of the nursing process using evidence based practice focusing on excellent outcomes and a superior patient experience within the frame work of shared governance

Primary Position Responsibilities

• Facilities and coordinates patient care of wound and ostomy patient in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Documentation of care
• Maintains Professional Development
• Education of Patient and family and Clinical staff
• Patient Advocate
• Maintain Patient Safety

Qualifications

• Minimum Education:
  • All Hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Or if Associates Degree or Diploma must be enrolled in BSN program and completed within 4 years of hire.
• Required: 2 years nursing experience including care of the ostomy patient and patients with pressure ulcers and draining wounds.
• Computer literate
• License, Registry or Certification: Current RN licensure.
• Preferred: Certification in enterostermal therapy/wound care.
• Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Knowledgeable of specialty beds and Skin care products. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to identify problems and resolve them using evidence based research in a systematic approach.
