Job summary

Autumn Leaves Nursing & Rehab in Texas is seeking an experienced RN to join our clinical team as a Weekend Supervisor. The role oversees daily nursing activities on Saturdays and Sundays and includes wound care responsibilities.

You will report to the nurse on duty, supervise direct care staff, and ensure patient safety, infection control, and compliance with standards. Texas compact or active Texas license is required, CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or compact license required.
• 1 year RN experience preferred.
• EMR experience required; PCC preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing activities on assigned shifts and complete wound treatments.
• Obtain report from nurse being relieved and provide report to nurse on duty; record information for follow-up.
• Conduct resident rounds daily and report problems to supervisor.
• Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action.
• Supervise direct care associates providing resident care.
• Observe infection control procedures.
• Perform CNA duties when required.

We are looking for an experienced individual to become part of Autumn Leaves' clinical team as a Weekend Supervisor (RN)! The Weekend Supervisor oversees the day-to-day nursing activities of the Community during their assigned shifts and completes wound treatments.

Position and Schedule

• RN Weekend Supervisor
• Part-Time
• Schedule: Saturday - Sunday

Responsibilities

• Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement community programs, policies, and procedures.
• Obtain report from nurse being relieved and provide report to nurse coming on duty; record sufficient information to implement appropriate follow-up action, as necessary.
• Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to supervisor and initiating corrective action.
• Identify safety hazards and initiate corrective action immediately.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care per physician's orders in the absence of a physician.
• Provide supervision to direct care associates providing direct resident care.
• Observe community process related to signing out narcotic and administration thereof. This includes the process related to shift narcotic count and documentation thereof.
• Notify physician, when necessary, of changes in conditions, weight, medication errors, medication not available, abnormal lab/X-Ray results, and any other unusual observations
• Document daily notes on unstable residents/change in resident condition, Medicare residents and recently admitted residents.
• Be responsible for the safety of residents and associates under his/her supervision.
• Observe infection control procedures.
• Perform all the duties of a certified nursing assistant when required.
• Must perform all wound treatments assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License in Texas
• Previous Weekend Supervisor experience in SNF highly preferred
• Electronic Medical Record Experience required, PCC preferred
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
• Be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as an RN
• Compact license or Texas Nursing License in good standing
• Proof of current CPR certification
• Ability to work flexible schedule
• Excellent interpersonal skills
