Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a weekend-only CVICU role. This full-time position covers 36 hours weekly, with shift hours from 7am–7pm on weekends and one weekday.

A premium pay structure applies to WOW shifts, with benefits eligible for eligible external applicants. The Cardiovascular ICU cares for open-heart surgery patients and complex cardiology cases, offering a modern, universal bed model of care and opportunities across critical care

Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN license or compact state license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification required within 10 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care from admission to discharge.
• Function as an on-shift team member delivering patient, family, and coworker care.
• Support CVICU open-heart surgery patients and post-operative care when on shift.

The RN will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.**About the Unit:**The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVU) of Baptist Health Floyd specializes in the care of open-heart surgery patients. CVU is a modern unit providing expert cardiac care with an innovative model of care called the universal bed concept. The team leverages their clinical expertise to care for these cardiac patients on all levels from pre-operative teaching to open-heart recovery, to cardiac ICU care, and to discharge teaching. While cardiac surgery patients are the primary focus, the CVU team also cares for general ICU patients, complex cardiology patients, patients requiring cardiac devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impellas, and patients requiring cooling after cardiac arrest.
