Presbyterian Village North is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Weekend Doubles - Charge Nurse in our Skilled Nursing Department. This FT position runs Saturdays and Sundays, 6:45am to 11:15pm under a 32/40 plan.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Models service and solutions oriented attitude; takes ownership to improve things.
  • Manages health care across campus including health unit and special care.
  • Makes rounds; ensures staffing is appropriate and residents are cared for.
  • Ensure safety of residents, visitors and staff by identifying hazards.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff (management staff).
  • Assess high-risk residents for pressure sores, restraints, weight changes, and prevention as per care plan.
  • Assess residents and complete MDS per facility policy.
  • Monitor residents and notify MD, family, and Director of Nursing; document in medical records.
  • Make recommendations for changes in conditions for MDS TILE and care plan.
  • Maintain Resident's Roster and Acuity Levels; coordinate with QA monitors.
  • Review consultant reports promptly; follow up as needed.
  • Complete evaluations of licensed nurses and assist with CNA evaluations.
  • Notify Directors of Nursing about incidents; investigate complaints as needed.
  • Attend committee meetings as directed; follow up on incident reports.
  • Ensure life enrichment programs/QA monitors are implemented.
  • Perform charge nurse duties during staffing emergencies to meet resident needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Models a service and solutions oriented attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
  • Is responsible for health care management of the campus to include, independent and assisted living, health unit and special care
  • Makes rounds in all buildings, ensures staffing is appropriate and residents are taken care of
  • Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate departmental staff (management staff only)
  • Assessment of high risk resident for pressure sores, restraints, weight changes, and other preventative care as outlined in the resident plan of care
  • Assess residents and completes MDS according to facility policy
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition, ensure MD, family, and Director of Nursing are notified and appropriate documentation is reflected in the medical record
  • Assess and make recommendations for significant change in conditions for MDS TILE and resident plan of care
  • Maintains the Resident's Roster and Acuity Levels within the department (i.e. State Boards, QA monitors)
  • Review and follow-up all consultant reports in a timely manner
  • Complete evaluations of all licensed nurses and assist with CNA evaluations on assigned unit
  • Notify Director of Nursing and Director of Healthcare of incident reports concerning abuse
  • Thoroughly investigate any complaints and concerns and report to Director of Nursing
  • Attend all assigned committee meetings, according to Director of Nursing directives
  • Review incident report documentation and ensures follow-up according to facility policy
  • Make rounds to verify clinical compliance and quality of care and provide couching and disciplinary action as indicated within the facilities policies and procedures
  • Ensures all life enrichment programs/QA monitors are implemented on assigned unit
  • Perform charge nurse duties, in cases of staffing emergencies, as required to meet the resident's immediate needs
  • Other duties as assigned
