Job summary

Kansas-City-Orthopaedic-Institute-1 is seeking an experienced RN to join our Urgent Care team on a PRN basis. You will provide professional nursing care for Urgent Care patients, support providers, and coordinate care in a fast-paced orthopedic-focused setting.

You will work with an all-RN staff, require 3 years of ortho, ER or UC experience, Kansas RN license, and BLS; ACLS is preferred. Responsibilities include education, charting, splint and DME application, and maintaining a clean, stocked

Qualifications

• Three years of orthopaedic, ER, or urgent care experience is required.
• Licensed registered nurse in Kansas (RN).
• BLS certification is required; ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care for urgent care patients following standards and practices.
• Assist providers and staff and coordinate patient care as liaison between patients and staff.
• Educate patients and families, keep the unit clean and stocked, and perform charting.
• Manage splinting and DME applications and collaborate with providers to ensure high-quality care.

We’re proud to be physician owned with a 4-bed Urgent Care, x-ray, and MRI on site. Our hospital has been serving the Kansas City area for 25 years. Our Urgent Care offers our staff work life balance and flexible self-scheduling.Our Urgent Care is a large part of the daily operations at the Hospital. Urgent Care is open Mondays-Fridays, 8:00am-7:00pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10:00am-4:00pm. We have a dynamic and unique working environment with a 100% orthopedic case load. In this role you will work autonomously alongside an all-RN staff. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of ortho surgical, ER or Urgent Care experience.We’re seeking experienced nurses for PRN weekdays & weekends.Job Function:Provide professional nursing care for Urgent Care patients following established standards and practices. This includes assisting providers and staff in coordinating patient care and functioning as a primary liaison between patients and staff. They will be responsible for patient and family education, keeping the unit clean and stocked, electronic charting, splint and DME application.
