Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Maine seeks a Unit Manager/Director - RN to support the Director of Nursing in delivering high-quality care and achieving positive clinical outcomes on an assigned unit. You will lead nursing operations, ensure care aligns with policy and regulations, and collaborate with staff, physicians, and other professionals for optimal patient and resident outcomes.

The role also entails HR responsibilities within the unit, including staffing, performance management and disciplining

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, guide and direct the overall operations, coordination and direction of nursing and patient/resident care for an assigned nursing unit.
  • Ensure patient/resident care delivery aligns with Genesis HealthCare's mission, vision, values and policies and complies with state/federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, rehabilitation therapy and other professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes on the unit.
  • Manage HR within the unit, including controlling overtime, recruiting/orienting staff, evaluating performance and applying disciplinary actions as needed.
