Job summary

The Grand Healthcare System in New York is seeking an experienced RN Unit Manager to lead the nursing team, oversee daily unit operations, and uphold high standards of resident care.

This full-time day-shift role requires an active RN license and 1–2 years in unit management within long-term care, plus strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills. You will collaborate with staff, residents, families, and leadership to ensure safe, quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license.
• 2+ years of long-term care experience preferred.
• 1+ year of Unit Manager experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff while overseeing daily unit activities.
• Ensure facility and employee policies and procedures are followed consistently.
• Provide clinical direction, coaching, and mentorship to nurses and other team members.
• Maintain appropriate standards of nursing care with a focus on resident safety and quality outcomes.
• Review resident documentation and medical records to ensure appropriate care.
• Complete case reviews and monitor compliance with individualized resident care plans.
• Respond to resident and family questions with professionalism and compassion.
• Monitor inventory and ensure adequate medical and nursing supplies.
• Collaborate with upper management to communicate unit needs and improve operations.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment for residents and staff.
