Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the Unit Manager is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility. The goal is to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the daily functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  2. Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care for residents.
  3. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
  4. Assist the Director of Nursing in ensuring sufficient licensed practical and/or registered nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, medications, and safety equipment are available and properly utilized for each shift to maintain quality care.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved LPN program with a pharmacology course.
  • Must possess a current Illinois unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory healthcare role preferred.
