Job summary

Blue Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Baltimore, MD is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to lead and support our nursing team while ensuring patient care excellence.

This leadership role focuses on clinical oversight, staff development, and operational efficiency within a skilled nursing environment, collaborating with physicians, therapists, residents, and families to maintain high-quality, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland.
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily nursing operations on the unit.
• Assess residents’ physical and emotional needs and ensure appropriate care delivery.
• Review and update individualized care plans based on residents’ progress.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly.
• Supervise, guide, and support nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
• Assist with staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care plans.
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, and facility regulations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee administration of medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Ensure safe and effective medication practices.
