Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the Med/Surg/Specialties unit. This full-time weekend night position (7pm–7am) offers leadership in nursing care and opportunities to impact workflow and patient safety on a 24-bed unit.

Required Virginia or compact multi-state RN license, 18 months nursing experience, BSN/MSN or RN Doctorate, and BLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for delivery of nursing care.
• Lead safety and quality initiatives and focus on workflow simplification under department leadership.
• Contribute to staff development and increase staff satisfaction while ensuring gold-standard patient care.

Specializing in care for those with chronic blood disorders such as Sickle Cell. You will also become very knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, etc. We also offer the ability to take control of your schedule with self-scheduling!Our staff members have different backgrounds that allow us to provide culturally competent care to our patients and families.
