Job summary

Wilmington Health in Wilmington, NC is seeking an RN to join its Midtown OB triage team on a PRN basis. You will perform telephone triage, coordinate patient appointments, and support physicians in office procedures.

The role requires a North Carolina or Compact RN license and an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with OB or Mother/Baby experience. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs telephone triage and relays information to physicians.
• Schedules, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments across offices and facilities.
• Documents assessments, messages, and interventions clearly and thoroughly.
• Oversees LPNs and MAs and supports physicians during in-office procedures.
• Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians.

Purpose:

Administers nursing care for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider or supervising clinical manager, by performing the following duties:

• Performs telephone triage
• Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician
• Schedules, coordinates and reschedules all patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)
• Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention
• Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
• Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
• Uses computer system efficiently and accurately
• Oversees LPN's and MA's
• Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office:
  • IVtherapy
  • IV/Blood product infusions
  • Chemotherapy
  • Cardiac stress tests
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned
