Job summary

Crouse Medical Practice in Liverpool, NY is seeking a Triage Registered Nurse to provide phone-based assessments of patients' health concerns, following established protocols. You will collaborate with physicians, managers and staff to support quality and cost-efficient daily operations, and you will build strong relationships with patients, families, and coworkers.

Requirements include current NY RN licensure, BLS certification, triage experience, and preferably a Bachelor’s in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Triage experience in a healthcare setting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Familiarity with healthcare systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
• Understanding of documentation standards.
• Knowledge of equipment, supplies and materials for medical treatment.
• Ability to work well in a team and cooperate with others.
• Ability to read and follow medical orders and initiate emergency procedures.
• Experience in a physician office preferred.

Position Description

The Triage Registered Nurse (RN) will provide assistance and consultation with patients over the phone to assess the severity of the patient’s related health concerns using proper protocol. Works with the physicians, managers and staff to promote quality and cost-effective daily operations. Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, their families, the public and co-workers. This position works collaboratively with all other staff to assist the patient and facilitate successful patient interaction with the practice team. This position reflects and carries forward the mission and goals of the practice both internally and throughout the community.

Requirements

• Education/Certification/Licensure
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Triage Experience
• Experience/Skills/Proficiencies:
• Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing from an accredited nursing school, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.
• Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions.
• Understanding of documentation standards.
• Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment.
• Works well in a team setting and demonstrates strong cooperation skills.
• Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders.
• Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures.
• Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously.
• Experience in a physician office, preferred.

Upon the conclusion of training, this will be a remote, work-from-home, position.

Pay Range: $69,000.00 - $83,000.00
