Responsibilities and Duties
- Complete patient assessment, education and, as appropriate, patient scheduling telephonically.
- Utilize knowledge in conjunction with approved protocols and standards to advise patients and parents.
- Ensure call-backs are made as appropriate.
- Document nursing action in medical records utilizing defined standard.
- Participate in the quality assurance program for Contact Center.
- Meet personal/team qualitative and quantitative targets for Contact Center.
- May be required to translate other languages if applicable.
- Understand and adhere to CSHS’s compliance standards as they appear in Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and CSHS’s regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Apply strong critical thinking and decision‑making abilities to quickly assess and prioritize patient needs.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Basic Life Support / CPR training according to requirements of license and/or certification.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain self‑direction.
- Working knowledge of computers and their applications preferred.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines and high volumes.

Education and Licenses
Required: High School / Equivalent. Preferable: Post‑High School / Specialized Training, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Master Degree, Certification or License, or other qualifications such as Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
Experience Required
One-year professional clinical nursing experience; family practice experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
