Job summary

Mountain Region Support is seeking an RN Trauma Program Specialist to collaborate with the trauma program manager on evaluating patient care and leading performance improvement activities. You will refine evidence-based guidelines and support trauma care initiatives to enhance regulatory compliance and patient outcomes.

The role requires trauma RN expertise, strong analytical skills for evaluating care, and the ability to develop evidence-based guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years recent hospital experience.
  • One (1) year in a critical care area (ICU or Emergency Department).
  • RN License; Current state nursing license or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
  • TNCC upon hire or within six (6) months of hire/transfer

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the trauma program manager to develop and execute performance improvement processes that support optimal outcomes for trauma patients.
  • Performs concurrent process improvement and evaluation of trauma care throughout the continuum, from prehospital, emergency room, operative, inpatient, and discharge.
  • Assesses compliance with trauma protocols and guidelines by observation and chart review.
  • Reviews trauma team activations and assesses for appropriateness based on established criteria.
  • Tracks findings within the trauma process improvement program and documents loop closure of any findings.
  • Monitors patient progress through the continuum of care for ongoing identification of potential care issues and facilitates timely resolution through communication and collaboration with the care team.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Trauma Program Specialist, you will collaborate with the trauma program manager to perform key elements of the trauma program, including evaluation of patient care, clinical and operational performance improvement activities, and development of evidence‑based guidelines.

Every day you will contribute to regulatory compliance and optimal patient outcomes by refining evidence‑based guidelines, implementing performance improvement activities, and providing trauma education to support comprehensive trauma care initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with expertise in trauma care, strong analytical skills in patient care evaluation, and the ability to develop evidence‑based guidelines.

  • Collaborates with the trauma program manager to develop and execute performance improvement processes that support optimal outcomes for trauma patients.

We are offering up to $8,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements
Required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Three (3) years recent hospital experience
  • One (1) year in a critical care area (ICU or Emergency Department)
  • RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Membership to a related professional organization (Society of Trauma Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses)
