Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Trauma Med/Surg at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. This full-time role supports trauma and post-surgical patients in a fast-paced Level I trauma center.

Join a 22-bed unit with a 4:1 to 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, collaborative team environment, and opportunities for clinical growth. Schedule includes 12-hour day shifts, weekends, and a total of 72 hours per 2-week pay period.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.
• Experience in trauma or surgical units preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-acuity Level I trauma setting.

Schedule: 72 hours per 2-week pay period | 12-hour Days Shifts (including weekends)

Registered Nurse (RN) – Trauma Med/Surg

Join the Trauma Med/Surg team at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and provide exceptional care to trauma and post-surgical medical/surgical patients at one of California's premier Level I Trauma Centers.

Our 22-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit is a fast-paced, high-acuity Model Care Unit where collaboration, clinical excellence, and compassionate care are at the center of everything we do. The unit maintains a 4:1 or 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in accordance with California Title 22 guidelines, allowing nurses to provide safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

In this role, you will:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on clinical needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless, evidence-based treatment.
• Serve as the primary nurse for your patients, promoting healing while respecting each patient's dignity, autonomy, and individual goals.
