HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Trauma Registered Nurse (PRN) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute-care setting. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to recognize emergencies and ensure accurate surgical site verification.

The role requires an RN license, Associate Degree, and trauma/ED experience; certifications ACLS, BLS, and PALS are required within set timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications within specified timeframes.
• Associate Degree and RN licensure required.
• Trauma or ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and during shifts; report changes.
• Perform procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Document care in the medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Prepare patients for procedures, including IV therapy and preoperative meds; verify surgical site.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Trauma Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In partnership with medical providers, the RN recognizes and reacts to emergent situations and assists in surgical site verification. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.

• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.

• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
