Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Solid Organ Transplant Progressive Care RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the transplant unit, aligned with state and specialty standards. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to educate patients and families, perform procedures, monitor, document, and manage medications during the night shift.

The role requires an active RN license, ACLS/BLS, and at least 1 year of acute care experience; BSN preferred with Magnet Hospital

Qualifications

• Current RN license for the state of Texas or eligibility.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Minimum 1 year acute care RN experience; transplant/PCU experience preferred.
• Magnet Hospital designation is a consideration for BSN pathway completion.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and every shift, reporting changes promptly.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, and care as ordered; document in medical records; manage medications and responses.
• Provide prompt, compassionate care and respond to patient requests; anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up; translate medical terms as needed.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. What You Will Do In This Role

• Assess the patient’s condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient’s medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree; BSN required w/12 month enrollment and 24 month completion (Magnet Hospital)
• Minimum 1 year Acute Care RN experience required; PCU and Transplant experience preferred
