Job summary

Allegheny Health Network's 2West- Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit in Canonsburg Hospital seeks an experienced RN to provide direct nursing care in a 40-bed unit with cardiac, pulmonary, infectious disease, neurology, GI and orthopedic specialties.

You'll collaborate with RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Cardiac Monitor Technicians and Unit Secretaries, follow the nursing process, document comprehensively, educate patients and families, and support staff development in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN license or multi-state license (eNLC).
• Active CPR certification and compliance with HIPAA rules.
• Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of the healthcare organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing and coordinating the plan of patient care for the age appropriate population. (30%)
• Initiates, monitors and revises interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders for the age appropriate population. (20%)
• Completes patient documentation in a comprehensive manner in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements that promotes interdisciplinary communication. (25%)
• Provides ongoing and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them across the continuum of care. (20%)
• Supports the development of students, new staff and colleagues, may serve as a preceptor. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
