Job summary

Qualifications

  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in California.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of one year Acute Care Telemetry RN experience.
  • Telemetry class completion preferred.
  • Successful completion of department orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and interpret age-specific data.
  • Encourage involvement of patient/family/significant others in decisions related to plan of care.
  • Perform priority procedures safely within scope and policy.
  • Perform all procedures for assigned patients efficiently and effectively.
  • Act as a resource for procedures for the assigned patients.
  • Identify actual or potential unsafe care practices and report promptly.

  • Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age‑specific data.

  • Performs the priority procedures for the assigned patients or areas safely - without causing harm legally - within the scope of practice and SMMC policy and in a manner perceived as satisfying by the patient and family.

  • Acts as a resource for all procedures for the assigned patients or areas.
  • Identifies actual and potentially unsafe care practices, initiates actions as appropriate to prevent or correct and reports in a timely manner.
  • *Job Requirements*Required
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Current advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
  • Minimum of one year Acute Care Telemetry RN experience.
  • Completion of a Telemetry class preferred
  • Successful completion of a medication examination and satisfactory completion of department/unit specific orientation.
