Description:48 hours guaranteed preferred.The unit has 36 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts.There is a technician for every 10-12 patients.Type of equipment includes Dynamap (WelchAllyn), telemetry with screens at the nurses station, and Alaris IV pumps.Documentation is managed through a Meditech system.Scheduling requires every other weekend availability.The floating policy indicates that staff will float first to ortho or telemetry units based on competencies.Patient experience requirements include bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounds with patients, AIDET, and personal connections with patients.Advanced skills needed include procedures performed on the unit that do not require conscious sedation.The dress code consists of charcoal gray top and bottom scrubs.Nursing turnover rate is 12%.Employee engagement was measured at 84% as of May 2019.New equipment and technology enhance the work environment.Tenure and experience of the staff contribute to a supportive atmosphere.Flexible schedule options may be available.
