Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a nurse leader to plan, coordinate, and supervise nursing departments at an on-site facility in Detroit. You will support clinical teams, drive utilization management, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

The role emphasizes staff development, collaboration with Medical Directors, and adherence to regulatory requirements, with travel to on-site facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Three to six years clinical experience and two years supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational, planning, analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of personnel.
• Working knowledge of PC applications and/or mainframe systems preferred.
• Daily travel to assigned on site facility where applicable.
• Proof of auto liability coverage for nurses on site where applicable.
• Valid current Michigan driver's license and personal means of reliable transportation for nurses on site as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise assigned department(s)/area(s) to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Supervise staff development through selection, development, and time management.
• Interface with physicians and care teams to develop treatment plans and goals.
• Review operational data and care plans to monitor goal completion and outcomes.
