Leadership Introduction Opportunity

The Registered Nurse Team Lead serves as a team leader, clinical resource person, role model, coach, and facilitator for staff and department operations. They have the responsibility and authority to lead their work group, resolve routine issues, and create a positive, productive, and fiscally responsible work environment.

The RN Team Lead's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Utilizing leadership principles to mobilize the patient care team towards positive outcomes and following up on issues to ensure resolution.
  • Assisting managers/directors in staff competence assurance and performance development.
  • Preparing work schedules for the department or work group.
  • Conducting team meetings to ensure effective communication, address needs and issues, and follow up with team members and management.
  • Promoting a positive work environment.
What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a school of professional nursing of an accredited college.

Experience: Two years in clinical discipline preferred; one year required with demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible for licensure; CPR certification required; ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as needed.

Other: Computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC); completion of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health De-escalation training within four months of hire and ongoing maintenance; successful completion of orientation and competency requirements.
