Job summary

Mercy is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process, while coordinating with multiple departments to ensure holistic care. The role emphasizes safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality in alignment with Mercy mission and Service Standards.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing degree and current RN licensure in the hiring state or a compact license, plus BLS certification and unit-specific credentials as required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure current in hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Graduate from a school of nursing (AD, Diploma, or BSN).
• Basic Life Support certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications may be required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, ENPC, CPHON, OCN, PEARS, C-EFM).

• Maintains accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Experience:

  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
  • One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

    • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

    • PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
    • S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
