Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Placid, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis in Day shift. You will evaluate patient care quality, review orders, and perform comprehensive assessments to ensure safety and high standards of care.

The role requires RN licensure with BLS/ACLS/PALS, strong communication, and teamwork. On-site work with benefits from day one and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• RN license with current CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS.
• Associates of Nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient care quality based on treatments provided.
• Maintains professional standards and attends mandatory meetings.
• Reviews patient charts for orders and tasks regularly.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and head-to-toe evaluations as per policy.
• Initiates corrective actions for patient care issues as needed.
• Interprets abnormal diagnostic data and educates patients on medications.

Job Description

• Evaluates the quality of patient care and outcomes based on administered treatments.
• Accepts responsibility for professional standards, including maintaining competencies and attending mandatory meetings.
• Reviews chart for new or pending orders and tasks at least every two hours.
• Initiates and signs off physician orders promptly. Performs comprehensive assessments of patients, including head-to-toe evaluations and reassessments as per policy.
• Anticipates and addresses patient care issues, initiating corrective actions as needed.
• Recognizes and interprets abnormal diagnostic data, including lab results, drug levels, and radiologic data.
• Educates patients and families about new medications, including effects and potential side effects.
• Formulates and updates goal-directed plans of care based on patient needs and standards of care.
• Administers treatments and medications safely and accurately, using appropriate technology.
• Maintains aseptic technique and demonstrates knowledge of infection control practices.
