Job summary

Curry Health Network in Gold Beach, OR is seeking a registered nurse for our perioperative team. This full-time and per diem on-site role offers day shift options (5x8 or 4x10) with compensation based on experience. Eligible roles may qualify for ladder and shift differentials.

You will assess patients, develop care plans, and provide direct and indirect perioperative care. Collaboration with surgeons, anesthetists, pharmacists, social workers, and case managers is essential to ensure safe care.

Qualifications

  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN licensure is required; BSN preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC) and TNCC/ATCN are required; NRP and STABLE preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year perioperative experience; OR circulation competency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in perioperative settings.
  • Assess patients, determine needs, and guide care plans with screening tools.
  • Inform and collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, pharmacists, social workers, and care managers.
  • Perform pre-op screening, intra-operative circulation, post-op monitoring, and discharge planning.
  • Document care accurately and adhere to policies and protocols.

Full-time & Per Diem | On-site | Gold Beach, OR | Shift Schedule: Day Shift - 5x8 or 4x10

Compensation is based on experience, with a range reflecting entry-level candidates through those with 15+ years of experience. Eligible positions may also qualify for additional compensation through our Clinical Nursing Ladder Program and applicable shift, weekend, certification, or other differentials.

Compensation Range

$47.70 - $72.15

Additional Compensation Differential Opportunities
  • Licensed Positions: NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.50/hour. | Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$3.00/hour.
  • Non-Licensed Positions: NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.00/hour. | Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$2.00/hour.
Job Summary

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Perioperative care setting. Assesses patients, using nursing judgement and appropriate screening protocols to determine unmet healthcare needs. Applies nursing diagnoses to define unmet needs. Organizes interventions to address identified needs, including facilitating referrals, obtaining medical orders, or providing education and case management support for the patient. Effectively communicates identified needs and care plan with the multidisciplinary care team including surgeons, anesthetists, pharmacists, social workers, case management, and more. Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions and adjusts the care plan accordingly.

Essential Functions
  • Perform patient assessment considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age. Uses appropriate screening tools effectively.
  • Demonstrates understanding of pathophysiology, disease processes, and treatment standards. Applies nursing diagnoses to identified needs.
  • Formulates a care plan based upon identified needs and facilitates interventions and referrals as appropriate.
  • Performs interventions in a competent manner, applying evidence-based standards of care and protocols to guide actions. Knowledgeable regarding medications, indications, interactions, and contraindications, considering age of the patient and their clinical condition. Evaluates effectiveness of all interventions.
  • Ability to care for patients across the perioperative continuum, including pre-anesthesia screening, pre-operative preparation, intra-operative circulation, post-operative monitoring, and discharge.
  • Formulates individualized teaching plans, evaluating effectiveness of learning. Patient and family interactions are professional.
  • Familiar with Policies, Procedures, and Protocols. Care and Documentation meets current standards of practice and complies with all such guidelines.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Current Unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse Licensure is required. BSN Preferred.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC (Emergency Nurse Association) or ATCN are required; NRP Advanced (American Heart Association) and STABLE certifications are preferred. (May obtain PALS or ENPC and TNCC or ATCN within 6 months of hire).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in perioperative setting required. Demonstrated competency in OR circulation is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Computer skills are required, specifically using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); prior use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for documenting in patient records is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work well in high pressure situations is required.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
