Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team in Iowa. You will provide direct nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures, maintaining a safe, sterile operating environment and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the care team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

We offer a competitive benefits package and a $10,000 sign-on bonus. A BSN is preferred within 12 years of hire, with Iowa RN licensure and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire.
• Current Iowa RN licensure in good standing.
• Current BLS certification or within 3 months of hire.
• Current ACLS certification or within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile operating room environment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Monitor patients throughout surgery, ensuring safety and responding to changes in condition.
• Accurately document patient care, medications, and surgical procedures.
• Advocate for patients while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Overview

Shift: Full-time, (4) 10 hour shifts, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, for 80 hours per pay period.

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you'll work alongside skilled surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure every patient receives outstanding care before, during, and after surgery. From preparing the operating room to advocating for patients throughout their surgical experience, you'll be an essential part of a collaborative team dedicated to excellence.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Must obtain BSN within 12 years of hire)

License(s)/Certification(s)

• Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within (3) months from date of hire
• Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or within (6) months from date of hire
