Job summary

Mariner Healthcare is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager (RN) to coordinate clinical services for a specified unit in San Jose, CA. You will oversee nursing care, facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include evaluating care systems, resolving patient and family concerns, developing and implementing care plans, mentoring staff, and supporting emergency operations as needed. Current CA RN license and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of California.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid state registrations and certifications as required based on the programming of the unit.
• One to three years (1-3) years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the resolution of issues and concerns associated with resident/patient care including family issues.

• Participates in quality assurance activities.
• Adheres to scope of practice limitations based on qualifications.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Will perform general nursing duties in cases of emergency or staffing shortages.
• May perform functions as directed by the Director of Nursing to enhance clinical operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises nursing staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

May be required to respond to critical issues on a 24/7 basis. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. Employee will occasionally assist to lift and / or transfer patients weighing between 100 to 250 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of resident’s protected health information. SALARY RANGE: $55.00 to $60.00 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
