Job summary

Rock River Healthcare in Rockford, IL seeks an experienced Nursing Supervisor to lead our nursing team and ensure high-quality resident care.

You will oversee care plans, supervise aides, coordinate with physicians, administer medications, maintain EMR documentation, and ensure compliance with JCAHO/OBRA/IDPH/HFS regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and a compassionate approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse's license in Illinois.
• Must have working knowledge of general nursing.
• Qualified to assume supervisory status by training/experience, preferably in a health care facility.
• Ability to make independent decisions and mature judgments.
• Ability and willingness to supervise and work with professional and non-professional personnel.
• Read, write, and speak English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support facility philosophy of care and strive to achieve goals.
• Assign aides, supervise their duties, and ensure completion.
• Administer parenteral, intramuscular, and sub-cutaneous injections.
• Make daily rounds to ensure Care Plans are followed and assess residents.
• Update Care Plans every 30-90 days as needed.
• Recommend staffing adjustments and participate in staff meetings.
• Administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
• Direct charting and evaluate resident progress in EMR.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of resident information.
• Attend nursing department and related meetings and ensure safety policies are followed.
