Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified professional for the Electrophysiology Lab at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. This full-time role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits.

Required credentials include an Associates Degree (Bachelor's preferred), a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credential, and at least 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Ensures lab operations and staff comply with regulatory standards and policies.
• Promotes staff development through education and performance evaluation.
• Performs care, assists with procedures, and administers medications under physician supervision.
• Engages in performance improvement to enhance patient outcomes and cost efficiency.
• Analyzes capital equipment needs and prepares justifications and recommendations.
• Assumes responsibility for EP, Pediatric Team Leaders, Cardiology, and related areas in absence of supervisor.

Essential Functions

• Coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Ensures that the lab operations and employees are in compliance with regulatory agency standards, and policies and procedures.
• Promotes staff development through education, performance evaluation, and identification of mutual goals that enhance continued professional growth as well analyzes requirements for staffing and assists in the preparation of justifications and recommendations.
• Performs care, assists with procedures and administers medications under the supervision of the physician.
• Participates with performance improvement activities to improve quality of patient care, promote patient outcomes and provide a cost effective environment for patient care.
• Analyzes requirements for capital equipment and assists in the preparation of justifications and recommendations.
• Assumes responsibility for the EP, Pediatric Team Leaders, Cardiology, Enhanced External Counterpulsation and the holding areas in the absence of the area supervisor.
• Coordinates risk management and failed medical device analysis including product safety recall management and maintains database for tracking of all failed medical devices per CMS policy.

Physical Requirements

Intermittent to rapid pace with high pressure situations, requiring periods of prolonged concentration and critical thinking. Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 50 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential. Intact sense of sight, hearing, touch, manual dexterity, and good eye hand coordination. Standing and walking while wearing 10-20 lbs lead radiation protection aprons. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Potential exposure to radiation, secretions and blood. Confined work area.

Education, Experience And Certifications

Associates Degree Required. Bachelor's preferred. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credential required. A minimum of 2 years experience in Cardiac Cath Lab required. Previous management experience preferred. BLS and ACLS required.
