Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles seeks an RN Supervisor (Cardiovascular) for Surgery. This full-time, non-exempt role supports perioperative leadership and coordinates clinical activities with the Clinical Director and Business Director of Perioperative Services.

The position oversees OR staff, handles disciplinary actions, mentors staff, and ensures scheduling efficiency. You must be an RN in CA with BSN; BLS, and Fire Life Safety training required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 5+ years OR experience and understanding of departmental operations.
• Demonstrated ability to work with physicians, staff and patients.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in California.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Fire Life Safety Training required (LA City); obtain within 30 days if not held.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and integrate clinical resource management across intradepartmental, interdepartmental and hospital levels.
• Hands-on supervision inside the red line; supervise OR staff and coordinate with Clinical Coordinator.
• Assist surgeons with equipment, supplies and staffing satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain performance improvement and quality control activities.
• Keep licenses, certifications and annual health assessments up to date.
• Assist with daily staffing schedules and staff evaluations.
• Provide orientation, training and continuing education for staff.
• Monitor space and resource utilization; assist with KRONOS time keeping.
• Implement and maintain systems/protocols to improve operations; complete eSRM reports.

Essential Duties

Qualifications

• Req Bachelor's degree Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Pref Master's degree Degree in Nursing.
• Req 5 years in an operating room and understanding of departmental operations.
• Req Demonstrated ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients.
• Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
• Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
• Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
