Job summary

Dameron Hospital in Stockton, CA is seeking an RN III to deliver and coordinate comprehensive nursing care across Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic and Telemetry units. You will lead the nursing care team, ensure patient safety and participate in the Respiratory Protection Program.

Requirements include a California RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS, and 12 months of recent relevant experience. PALS is required for Surgery/Endoscopy and Emergency Department units.

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse License.
• BLS Certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
• ACLS Certification through AHA.
• NIHSS Certification required.
• National certification in medical-surgical care or critical care nursing preferred for unit assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment.
• Provide proficient leadership and direction to the nursing care team per unit competency checklist.
• Ensure patients' comfort, safety and personal care across all patient care and operational areas.
• Participate in Respiratory Protection Program and use required safety devices.
• This is a union position with unit-specific requirements (Surgery, Endoscopy & Emergency Department include PALS).

POSITION SUMMARYResponsibilities include but are not limited to: The assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment. Functions as a Proficient nurse (Benner, Novice to Expert Nursing Theory) within the competency checklist of assigned unit. Accountable for effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team ensuring patients' comfort, safety and personal care. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator which requires a clean-shaven face. This is a union position.Education:Education required to qualify for license as a registered nurse.
