Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Senior to join the Gateway, El Paso location. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekends, on-call, or major holidays.

The RN will support both the Grapevine and Irving locations, ensuring high-quality cancer care and patient support across sites. Responsibilities include coordinating care, assessing patient needs, providing education, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and history.
  • Provide teaching and instructional materials to patients and families.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage medication refill requests and document in chart.
  • Schedule consultations, pre-testing, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient calls and document information in the chart.
  • Coordinate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.

Texas Oncology is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Sr to join our team! This position will support the Gateway, El Paso, Tx location. This is a full-time Monday-Friday hours (8:00am-5pm) position with no weekends, call or major holidays. This position will support both the Grapevine and Irving locations.

What does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) Sr do?

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company-wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:



  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.

  • Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.

  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.

  • Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.

  • Facilitates clinical operations and patient care

  • Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart.

  • Facilitates and schedules consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients.

  • Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient’s chart.

  • As necessary, facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care.

  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.

  • Inter professional collaboration

  • Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.


Qualifications


  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience

  • Willing to consider an entry, mid, or senior level candidate

  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
