Job summary

Texas Oncology in El Paso, TX, is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Oncology Department at the Joe Battle location. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with no weekends, call, or major holiday coverage.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
  • Manage patient medication refill requests and record the information in the patient chart.
  • Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.
  • Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care as necessary.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Engage in interprofessional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPNs, LVNs, and medical assistants.

Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Oncology Department at the Joe Battle location in El Paso, TX. This is a full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 am‑5 pm) with no weekends, call or major holiday coverage.

Long‑Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary, based on performance, potential and employment status, and are reviewed during the annual compensation review. Awards are subject to continued employment and governed by the LTIP document.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care as necessary.
  • Assist patients in locating available community resources.
  • Engage in interprofessional collaboration.
  • Act as a resource to LPNs, LVNs, and medical assistants.

  • Willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Working Conditions

The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic, with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxins, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to such settings. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Physical Requirements

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting or carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires normal vision and hearing.
