Job summary

Kettering Health in Ohio seeks a Registered Nurse to provide quality patient care, education, and support across procedures, staying attuned to patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
• Experience with EPIC EMR; strong communication and teamwork skills; BLS certification required; ACLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and exam rooms for physician visits; take histories and vitals.
• Conduct patient testing, monitor results, and assist with procedures.

Job Details

Provide quality nursing care, education, treatment and support to patients, staying attuned to the needs of their supporters as well. Serve as a patient advocate as they strive to have their health care needs addressed. Patient care duties include: preparing patients and exam rooms for physician consultation, taking medical history and vitals, conducting patient testing, monitoring results, and ongoing patient observation prior to, during, and following administration of treatment, assisting physician in special procedures to include minor surgery

Patient follow up to include: identify learning style and needs of patients (and their families), providing test results and appropriate education regarding medications, treatment plans and aftercare instructions, while promptly addressing their questions and concerns. Medical records: Effectively utilize EMR for charting, charging, retrieval of orders, scheduling, etc. Inputs, retrieves and interprets data from patient charts (paper and EMR) in a timely manner. Teaming and communication: Effectively communicates, displaying a professional and positive attitude towards patients, their families and staff, especially when addressing a difficult situation. Professional development: Participates in continuing education and nursing education activities both within and outside the network. Accountable for professional development within scope of care as defined by law. Dependable, demonstrates flexibility while prioritizing duties, and utilizes time efficiently in the completion of assigned duties.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Minimum Education

Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) required, with a bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Licenses

[Ohio,United States]Registered NurseCurrent licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.

Required Skills

Previous nursing experience preferred. Electronic medical records experience (preferably EPIC) preferred. Excellent communication and teaming skills required. Basic Life Support certification required. Advance Cardiovascular Life Support may be required depending on specialty area and level of care provided at the practice.
