Qualifications

• Accredited Nursing Program required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate for those administering chemo.
• APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card within 12 months for chemo patients.
• ACLS required for ICU/ED/other critical areas.
• PALS required for most pediatric areas; 30 days to obtain if from non-pediatric background.
• NRP certification required for NICU; 30 days to obtain if from non-NICU background.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition and referrals.
• Effectively delegates care to ancillary staff and may precept students and new hires.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides education appropriate to age and culture.
• Plans, implements and evaluates care based on assessment to optimize outcomes and resources.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
