Job summary

Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide individualized care to residents using the nursing process while collaborating with families and inter-disciplinary teams to plan and evaluate care.

The RN will coordinate resident care, educate residents and families, and may serve as charge nurse with appropriate delegation. An active RN license and ongoing competencies are required to maintain high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license where practice occurs; may hold multistate licensure (NLC).
• Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to residents using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Collaborate with residents, families and inter-disciplinary colleagues to plan and evaluate care.
• Coordinate resident care, education and various nursing interventions; may serve as charge nurse and delegate tasks as appropriate.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in nursing

Nationally accredited nursing program (CCNE/ACEN/NLN CNEA)

RN license in State Board or Multistate (NLC)

Maintains required competencies and certifications
