Job summary

Baptist Health in Crossbridge Behavioral Health is seeking an RN Shift Supervisor to lead weekend staffing and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced environment. The role requires timely decision-making, mentorship for staff, and collaboration with the ED/ Trauma team to ensure quality outcomes.

Candidates must hold an active RN license in Alabama, have a Bachelor's degree preferred, and demonstrate leadership, strong communication, and organizational skills.

Highlights

Summary: Responsible for assisting the Director/Manager through supervising the day to day department activities. Assist in facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating unit activities for the provision of quality patient care within the framework of the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health. Serve as a mentor and team lead for the staff.

Education / Experience:

• Associate's degree in Nursing required and 4 years of Staff Nurse experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required and 2 years of Staff Nurse experience in the department is preferred.

License / Certification:

• Active RN licensure required, BLS required ACLS required, PALS required within 6 months in role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Trauma/ED standards of care practices and procedures, for the ED Shift supervisor.
• Organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to show initiative and leadership in patient care.
• Ability to effectively communicate to patients, guest, and coworkers.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
