AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time night shift. You will adhere to infection prevention and medication safety standards while delivering individualized care plans and ongoing assessments.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient experiences. The role requires an Associate's degree in Nursing (RN) with Florida licensure; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's of Nursing is required and RN licensure is mandatory.
  • Experience with nursing care methods and English communication is essential.
  • Knowledge of EKG and general life-support practices is required.
  • Proficiency with computerized patient records is expected (Cerner preferred).

Job Description:
  • Follows strict infection prevention precautions.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures regarding all aspects of medication safety.
  • Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
  • Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed.
  • Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population.
  • Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety.
  • Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding.
  • Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients according to their level of understanding.
  • Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations.
  • Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education.
  • Manages staff accountability and adherence to regulatory requirements when applicable.
  • Facilitates team dynamics of patient care, patient experience, and patient flow including managing staff assignments.
  • Fulfills management responsibilities including effective conflict resolution, patient/staff rounding and communication, resource utilization, comprehensive hand off communication, and completion of unit specific audits/checklists as required or assigned.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
